Busy weekend

Saturday morning Josh and I helped out with a 5K run. Josh ran the sound while I blocked traffic. As I left the race to run to Cousins Sarie's baby shower in Black Mountain, Josh took off to the last day of T-ball. As the 3 and 4 year old children of Cherryville received metals and pizza, Beth and I headed up the mountain.

I got the privilege of feeling how active baby Eleanor is already.

I made a turtle blanket for baby Eleanor to enjoy

After our separate commitments we met up with Shovel and went camping. Of course it rained the entire time. We ended up sleeping in the Element. Even though it rained we played cards and had some great laughs.

Catching up

Since my grad school has finished up, I have not been excited about getting on the computer, even if it is for fun stuff. The poor blog has suffered. I thought I would make a montage of photos of our life for the past 6 weeks.

We will start our story with four pampas grass bushes in our back yard. If you burn them they will come back greener.

We learned that the gas was unnecessary

No one was hurt in the fire.

We also went to a wonderful wedding

Josh got stuck in the mud...

But he got out

For my Birthday we played Frisbee golf

We climbed trees and smiled real big

We also hunted the white haired Boo, common in the North American forest

It has been a long time

It has been almost two months since we have posted anything. Our lives have been quite crazy. Josh got a promotion! He is now in charge of All Gaston County YMCA sports programs. This also means that he spends many nights working.
I finished Grad School two Tuesdays ago. I have been catching up on all the things I have missed, such as sleep. I have also been cooking more. I hope to do a better job of keeping up with the blog.

Winter

As Josh goes back to work at the YMCA and I start a new job in my school system, we took some time to head to Hickory for a house party.

The Holiday Season

Our Holiday Season was filled with family, dogs and snuggies. We went to Josh's parents home for Christmas Eve. On Christmas we had our small celebration, and then later that day my parents came for a visit. Kathy and Shelby joined us for our Holiday adventure.
While my parents were hear we decided to take them to a Frisbee golf course to experience our new favorite game.
Lets just say we walked a lot, sometime it was not in the direction of the basket.

Abby did a very good job of sharing her daddy with Shelby, but Shelby's visiting hours with Josh became closely monitored. Shelby also became closely monitored after she ate two deer burgers off the counter.

As it was mentioned before our entire family received snuggies for Christmas, even little Abby. I myself was fortunate enough to receive not just one, but two blankets with sleeves.

Over the break Josh decided to add power to his buildings. Now we will not be restricted to day visits out in the building, and Josh is able to have a man cave. We are both pumped about the man cave.

Poor Kathy has doggie dementia. She has been forgetting key part of her daily routine. After the hole was dug for the wire to the buildings Kathy panicked about Shelby getting lost in the hole. She was so worried she contemplated going in after her, but then decided to let Abby do it since she was younger.

As the holidays wound down Josh and Abby went back to their normal routine.

Christmas is Here!

What is a better way to kick of the Christmas Season then to have a flag football tournament. During the last game a ball was tipped and the trophy was hit. A nice tape job was done and the trophy was fixed.

Of Course Josh had to go see Santa

And we got Santa to come see Abby.

Rocks and Trees

Josh, Abby, our neighbor Ray and I headed up to Linville Gorge to get some rocks for our neighborhood fire pit. Once we got to the bottom of the Gorge, Josh found the biggest pile of rocks ever and concured it before Abby even had a chance.
Ray and Josh loaded up the truck while I supervised.

When we got back the team needed a picture with all their treasure.

Josh and Abby started digging the pit

Of course Abby would not stop digging even when both men worked with shovels.

As they were digging and building I decorated the house, and then Abby. I think Abby is a cute Rudolph.
